Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Organise agency staff at the beginning of the shift – give them detailed information about the expectations, introduce them to the operators.
  • Discuss the last shift’s incidents and issues with the shift manager
  • Check the catch-up files and printed emails for tasks, actions and priorities
  • Organise breaks and break cover (if necessary)
  • Ensure everybody adheres to H&S requirements and wears the PPE required (mask, earplugs, safety glasses)
  • Ensure equipment is switched off when not in use or unattended (conveyors especially)
  • Ensure ERMI 1 operators wear biscuit PPE when touching the biscuit dispenser/robots.
  • Check finished product quality:Overall appearance of product and date code

  • Check the documentation, to ensure nothing is completed in advance and that all checks/tasks are executed
  • Check all production lines are cleaned to the highest standards (clean as you go, CIP)
  • Organise and monitor the change overs, ensure that optimum push quantities are used to avoid unnecessary wastage and off-quality products.
  • Ensure that trial and sample requests are communicated properly to the operators and executed perfectly. Provide feedback to the NPD team.
  • Ensure that staff has a meaningful work to do – cleaning the line and the area, decanting, filling up material stocks
  • Discuss the efficiency results with the shift manager, assist in fault finding and help to collect further information from the operators/engineers
  • Check the waste bins and dolavs on the lines and highlight excessive wastage to the shift manager
  • Make sure that operators are not leaving line unattended at shift change, especially that lines are not stopped
  • Develop excellent working relationships with the shift team and with the wider Production Management and Process teams.
  • Feedback and initiate ways to improve production and training needs.
  • Ensure H&S and environmental requirements and departmental procedures are followed, initiate training as required and report any identified health, safety or environmental issues
  • Ensure Good Manufacture Practice (GMP) is adhered to and that we pass internal and external audits.
  • Any other duties requested or delegated by your manager.

The successful candidate will have experience working in a similar environment and will be at the level required or shown a desire to progress their career.
